Welcome to my new and shiny outdoor blog!
What is this all about?
Nature. Mountains. Gear. Hills. Hiking. Cycling. Maps. More gear. Lighter gear. Climbing. Pictures. Stories.
And maybe occasional cappuccino with nice cake after day out. So normal things that you associate with outdoors. Site is designed to work around trip reports and reviews.
The main purpose for this blog is to document my journey from novice mountaineer and fairly experienced hiker to seasoned mountain goat and lightweight hiker. There will be also stories around mountain biking, bird watching and other stuff that I managed squeeze into my calendar. Since this is a journey, I’m not really sure where it’s going to end or what route it’s going to take, so just sit back and enjoy the ride. It should be the journey and not the destination that matters anyway.
I sure like my stuff but that’s not the point. It would be nice to being able to get the right stuff from the beginning and avoiding expensive misses. For this reason, I’ll be writing reviews from items that I’m using so you can find more information and user experiences to aid your decision making. This also aids me to learn more about the products that I own. I will be covering also some other material like books and videos that I find useful.
Since I’m not qualified instructor (or anything similar) you need to take my reviews and opinions “as-is”. I cannot guarantee that all the information is correct but I try my best. If you find out that I’m spreading wrong facts please let me know so I can fix it.
About the site
I moved to Edinburgh (United Kindom) in the end of 2013 from Finland and after that I’ve spent most of my weekends walking, climbing or cycling on Scottish hills. After having many wonderful experiences I thought that it would be nice to share some of the stories with others. That was the starting point for this blog and the concept has been slowly maturing from that.
First thoughts to start writing came in early June and while walking Southern Upland Way sections 9 (from Traquair to Melrose) & 10 (from Melrose to Lauden) last Saturday, I decided that it’s time for actions. So here we are. www.Endor-Fin.com is now up and running and if you’re asking from me, it doesn’t look too shabby.
To learn more about who I am, check this page and don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any feedback and/or ideas how to make this site better.
See you at the hill,
